I’m on a hike today. About a 5 minute drive to the trail head and then a 3 hour hike to here. So worth it! I can see both my car and the house from here which is neat.
And a bonus of having seen literally zero people out here. If it were clearer I’d have a real good view of the channel islands but this is perfect hiking weather.

That’s amazing. Do you live in Middle Earth?

You live in France? :P
“No, Cali!”
You live in Colombia?
Amazing views. Anyone who can legally socially distance like this should do it as much as possible.

Must have rained recently, as that area only looks that lush/green in the spring after it rains.
Los Padres?

I’m over in Montecito— the rains came very late, but plentiful when they arrived. There was a lot of fresh snow on Baldy when I was in Claremont the other day too.
Will be a dandy fire season...

I’m in Malibu and yup its been steadily getting greener now that the rains finally came. It was relatively green from the December rains but it didn’t really start popping until the March rain showed up.
Found lots of snow in Los Padres last weekend. Was going to go over there again but I'm glad I did this, was nice to sleep in and still get a full day hike in. Not driving two hours to the trail head is a nice treat. This trail would have been about a 1hr15min drive from my old place and a 5 minute drive from this spot.

I'm pretty confident all of the other trail heads into this area are officially closed to enter. But since this trailhead is right by my house, the maybe 2-3 parking spots was a non issue with how deserted it was. I saw 4 people total over 6 hours and it was all within the last hour or so.
